9 Team Building Activities for Your Next Company Outing
🌞 There’s still time to book your summer company picnic for your team or family reunion. Check out this list of exciting and memorable activities and options for your lakeside retreat. 🌞
During the summer and fall, many companies look for ways to get their teams out of the office for unique team-building events. From company-wide meetings and planning sessions to important client meetings, all the way to celebration events and family-friendly picnics, investing in your team’s happiness is a great way to show appreciation and boost employee engagement.
But you don’t have to host the same old corporate events. Located just a little over an hour outside of Nashville, Tennessee, you’ll find an “unboring” venue for your next outing. Our Twin Creeks events team has a dedicated staff skilled at planning exciting and eventful events, filled with the perfect blend of work and play to suit your needs.
Today, we’re sharing nine team-building activities at Twin Creeks that you can select for a memorable and effective next meeting, retreat, or company picnic.
1 - Discuss goals, present awards, and celebrate success in comfort.
Most corporate offsite meetings require a blend of business and fun. But that doesn’t mean that you should subject your team to stuffy hotel conference rooms without windows. A Twin Creeks event offers your group several venue options indoors and outdoors for just about any group size, with seating for larger groups of up to 200 attendees and guests.
Small and medium-sized groups of up to 35 love to meet in The Nest, our indoor space above the marina and overlooking Tims Ford Lake.
If you prefer lakefront meetings, our open-air covered venue, The Honeysuckle, offers you a comfortable place to conduct business meetings, host awards ceremonies, have meals or cocktail receptions, or anything else you would want or need. This versatile space comes complete with a stage, and an optional dance floor, and customizable lighting. You can further personalize your experience by adding floral services to your event, coordinated by the Twin Creeks staff.
All Twin Creeks venues offer complete audiovisual resources for meetings, receptions, or galas. We can even coordinate live country music bands straight out of music city, as well as pop, rock, Southern rock, or any other style you’d want for your event.
2 - Make the most of your offsite planning meeting with one-of-a-kind accommodations.
It’s no secret that there are many benefits of offsite events, and it’s a good idea to provide your team with more than just hours of sitting in meetings. One great way to maximize time, ensure a productive session, and strengthen relationships between colleagues is by planning an event over a few days.
A multiple-day event allows you to mix business with fun for your corporate team. Many of our executive groups choose to rent one or more of our lake villas or LakeBnBs. Many of our rentals offer four or more bedrooms and come fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay. Whether you have visitors traveling in or just want to get away from the office for an interruption-free leadership session, our accommodations can help you create a productive and comfortable environment for your meeting.
Family-friendly outings and company picnics can be made more enjoyable by giving your employees the option of staying overnight with their families and turning the day into a weekend family getaway. Choose one of our village rentals, upcoming waterside cottages, or give your team the option of renting a lakefront site in the Twin Creeks RV resort. No matter what kind of accommodations your group prefers, we have beautiful and affordable rentals to suit your needs.
3 - Relax and unwind with pontoon boat rentals, sunset cruises, and water sports.
What’s a memorable lakeside retreat without good times on the water? Rent one or more pontoon boats and spend the day or an afternoon cruising, swimming, fishing, tubing, and relaxing. Twin Creeks offers a fleet of 90hp and 115hp state-of-the-art pontoon boats as well as a Double Decker* pontoon boat, complete with a slide, for your group’s day of fun in the sun.
Each pontoon boat comes fully equipped with life jackets, an enhanced sound system, premium upholstery, couch-style lounge seating, and dual USB charging ports in every seating area. Combined with our dedicated team to ensure your watercraft is fueled up and ready to go, your guests will be treated to a luxurious lake experience.
Other rental options for your group include kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, towable tubes, and lilypads for a day of memory-making on the lake.
4 - Take advantage of delicious and affordable food and beverage catering.
One of the biggest complaints our corporate clients share about their experiences before Twin Creeks is the high catering prices of many hotels. We think you shouldn’t have to break the bank to have delicious food and beverage and offer various catering packages to suit your group’s needs and budgets. From easy, laid-back picnic fare for a company event to upscale selections for a prospective client or one of your top accounts, we can deliver the ideal food and beverage combination for your group.
5 - Have fun and play games surrounded by natural beauty.
Twin Creeks resort is a beautiful lakeside community that offers you the perfect environment for your next outing. In addition to unique meeting space and customized food and beverage offerings, you’ll be immersed in gorgeous surroundings, one of Tennessee’s favorite lakes, and miles of beautiful Tims Ford State Park.
Play cornhole and yard games, embark on a scavenger hunt, make smores by our fire pits or spend time exploring our many walking trails alongside beautiful Tims Ford State Park. Want to dine al fresco underneath a stunning 100-year-old magnolia tree? We’ve got you covered there, too.
6 - Take advantage of Tims Ford’s only floating trampoline park.
If you’re planning for families or you have an adventurous group, consider booking the Jungle Boat at Twin Creeks for an afternoon of fun. The Jungle Boat at Twin Creeks offers hours of fun with six unique attractions, including two trampolines, a slide, a high jump, a diving board, and a ropes course. You’ll be the team’s hero for years to come.
7 - Offer your guests unique sightseeing tours.
When you get out of the city, be sure to take advantage of some local culture. The Jack Daniels Distillery, one of the top attractions in middle Tennessee, is actually just a short drive from Twin Creeks. Our corporate events staff can coordinate tours there, to George Dickel Distillery, Falls Mill Historic Water Mill & Museum, and can recommend other local attractions so you can focus on your team without worrying about the logistics.
8 - Get into a little friendly competition on the golf course.
If your group likes to golf, Bear Trace at Tims Ford Golf Course is just a couple of miles down the road. We can also offer golf rounds or tournaments as one of your planned team-building activities or help attendees book entertainment in their downtime.
9 - Capture every moment with photography and videography services.
Today’s labor shortage makes recruitment and retention harder yet more critical than ever. Offsite events can boost employee engagement and morale, all while increasing productivity. But a team-building event isn’t just for showing your appreciation; it can also help in your recruiting efforts.
Consider adding photography or videography services to your event, and you’ll receive high-quality footage that you can post to your hiring website and social media to show that yours is an organization that values its team members. Your current staff will love reliving the memories, and you’ll have an effective tool to help demonstrate your company’s culture to prospective hires.
These are a few of our favorite ideas for groups of all sizes but don’t just take our word for it. Take advantage of our complimentary corporate events services and let our team design the perfect group activities to make your next outing fun, flawless, and affordable. Click Here
